My romantic guitars are based on studies and measurements done directly on historical instruments. My aim as a builder has been to question and understand the style in which these guitars were made, and through my research to develop skills and techniques that help me make my work more authentic. This insight has enabled me to build more freely within the different styles, and to be truer to the spirit of the originals in both sound and appearance.
Below you’ll find different models, each of them based on specific instruments representing prominent European traditions. But there are many instruments you can choose from, and much freedom to be had in terms of materials and looks, so don’t hesitate to ask.
My Neapolitan guitars are based mainly on the works of Giovanni Battista and Gennaro Fabricatore. As standard I offer a model from the mid 1810’s and a model from the 1830’s
My Viennese guitars are based on the works of Johann Georg and Johan Anton Stauffer. As standard I offer a model with pegs and with or without an adjustable neck.
My French guitars are based on the works of René Lacôte and Jean-Joseph Coffe.
Below you’ll find pictures of some of my works, including a reconstruction of a Spanish guitar by Josef Pagés and one by the Norwegian maker Georg Daniel Schöne.
